About this guide
This guide was lovingly crafted by yours truly in response to the many guides out there bogged down by overly wordy explanations and fluff.
There are plenty of resources out there that go into detail about the history and other finer points of the language. While I do maintain a collection of resources that I find useful for learners, I am not here to re-invent the wheel. I am not here to explain mundane, overly complicated details that have been explained thousands of times already in textbooks and guides past.
Rather, I’m here to keep it simple.
I’m here because you and I have similar goals: You want to learn Japanese, and I want to help you learn it.
If you don’t mind me being sentimental for a moment, learning Japanese changed my life drastically. I actually owe a great deal of my current livelihood to the countless hours I have poured into learning the language.
Thus, I feel like it’s finally time to give back to the ever-growing community of learners out there looking for guidance. I created this website because I am a strong advocate of education that can be accessed by anyone, anywhere in the world, at any time. Wherever you are in your Japanese studies, and whatever your reasons for learning, I hope this guide helps you along your way.
